Men in India spend little time within their social circles asking for advice on their health problems. There is a protective air around their health issues, and there is often procrastination when it comes to proactively take charge of their health and wellness. Karolis Mieliauskas, the famous explorer and the global brand ambassador for Wellman on his recent visit to India highlighted the changing lifestyles and the increasing incidence of several diseases such as diabetes, blood pressure, obesity and cardiovascular problems, among others.
Describing his journey and the need to be on wheels, Karolis explained the importance of a balanced diet and nutrition to compensate the unhealthy lifestyle. A recent study by the National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) showed 46 per cent of their sample size of healthy adults had vitamin B2 and B6 deficiencies. Additionally, another study conducted by P.G. Talwalkar, Diabetologist in association with Shushrusha Hospital in Mumbai stated that 70-90% of Indians are Vitamin D deficient. The alarming rate of these deficiencies highlights the critical need for spreading awareness on promoting preventive methods to address these. Karolis urged men in India to focus on their health and invest in advanced range of vitamin supplements, designed for the nutritional intake and lifestyle needs of men at every stage of life.
Mr. Karolis Mieliauskas, Global Brand Ambassador, Wellman commented, “My profession demands a certain level of physical fitness and mental sharpness as my adventure rides take me to difficult terrains under extreme weather conditions. The Wellman range of multi-vitamin and mineral supplements, developed with key energy releasing nutrients, has helped me maintain my daily energy and performance levels. A single wellness supplement has aided me to remain physically fit and mentally sharp. I would urge Indian men to focus on their health requirements and be well informed about their nutritional needs.”
Mr. Sandeep Ajgaonkar, Head of OTC, Meyer Organics Pvt. Ltd said, “We are delighted to welcome Karolis on his “Spice Route Motorcycle Odyssey” where he will be demystifying various myths associated with multi-vitamins and nutraceuticals. In our country, men’s health is often ignored resulting in low immunity, fatigue and mental stress. The hectic lifestyles coupled with lack of a balanced diet can give rise to nutritional deficiencies. With Wellman one-tablet-a-day, it is possible to maintain a busy lifestyle and also achieve optimum physical and mental well-being. We recommend Indian men to proactively take nutritional supplements to address their deficiencies and optimise physical and mental fitness to increase efficiency and productivity in their lives.”
India will be one of the key focus markets for Wellman as the nutraceuticals market is expected to grow from $4 billion in 2017 to $18 billion in 2025. Vitamins and minerals occupy a larger share of the pie in the Indian dietary supplements market – 40%.
